Negative Bias: Breaking the curse – fostering a positive internal bias – with Caroline Carrier

Negative bias can be especially strong in those with ADHD. These sessions will explore different reasons for this, and different approaches to activate strengths, successes and positives.

This session will explore:

  • Why acknowledging, remembering and using strengths and successes is a particular challenge for ADHDers.
  • The VIA character strengths survey as a tool for changing this. (Attendees are invited to take the survey ahead of the session, but this is not a requirement.)
  • How to develop your own “strengths stories” and build in prompts to remember and use these as tools when you hit challenging situations.

The session is suitable for anyone struggling with a harsh inner critic or low self-esteem, particularly adults with an ADHD diagnosis, but also for those seeking tools to use with their ADHD children. As a former SENCo and an ADHDer herself, Caroline has used the VIA to work with her own inner critic, with teenagers, and with adult coaching clients.

We receive no government funds. Fundraising is extremely difficult because of the economic climate and because of the discrimination and stigma that means many can’t be out and ask for fundraising sponsorship. That means any donation you give is extremely valued and is the only way we can do the work we do.

We ask for a donation regardless of size. Even 1p. With a suggested donation of £5.

If you are not in a position to donate then we still want to welcome you and have you attend. Simply put in the suggested donation and place the tickets in your basket, generate your coupon here, and use the coupon to 100% discount the basket.

WE ARE HAVING TROUBLE WITH THE DONATION SYSTEM. IF IT DOESN’T WORK FOR YOU YOU CAN USE THE CLICK HERE TO JOIN LINK BELOW INSTEAD.
